Terms of service

1. The service

ReceiptManager is a receipt capture, classification, and reporting tool for South African SMEs and individuals. We help you turn paper into a SARS-defensible audit trail.

2. Your account

• You must be 18+ and the authorised representative of any organisation you create
• You’re responsible for everything done under your account
• One person, one account. Multiple orgs per account are fine and encouraged

3. Free during MVP

ReceiptManager is free until we exit MVP. After that, billing kicks in at 25 active receipts/monthper organisation. We’ll give you 30 days’ notice before charging anything.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use ReceiptManager to:

• Process documents that aren’t yours or weren’t given to you
• Generate false receipts or alter source documents
• Submit fraudulent VAT201 or ITR returns to SARS
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or stress-test the platform

5. AI classification disclaimer

Receipts are auto-classified by Gemini via OpenRouter. AI-classified fields are marked with a sparkle (✨). You are the responsible taxpayer— verify every field before submitting to SARS. We’re not liable for tax penalties caused by uncorrected OCR errors.

6. Data and exits

Your data is yours. Export anytime from Settings → Data. We retain copies for SARS-mandated 5 years even after you delete your account — see the privacy policy.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes go to the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg.
